To help protect our main playing surfaces, the club aims to minimise casual use of Field 1A so it remains in the best possible condition for competition matches. Where possible, casual training or additional sessions should use Field 2.

Wet Weather & Field Closures

If wet weather affects training, the club will inspect the fields as late as possible before making a decision.

Where Council has not already closed the fields, Springfield United will aim to inspect the grounds from approximately 3:00pm to 4:00pm at the latest.

If fields are closed, the club will post an update on our official Facebook page.

Players and parents are asked not to message the club directly about whether training is on. With a large number of members, we are unable to respond to individual enquiries.

For team-specific updates, please check with your coach or manager or age coordinator.

Training Plan Guidelines

Our training schedule is developed to balance field availability, player safety, team needs and overall club operations.

Training allocations are based on the following principles:

  • Teams are generally allocated a training space similar to half the size of their match field.
  • Teams may share a field space with another team of a similar age or level.
  • Teams must completely vacate their allocated space by the end of their session so the next group can start on time.
  • Spare spaces may be used by teams when available, but they cannot be reserved.
  • Any request to change a training allocation must be submitted by the team coach or manager.

Training change requests should be emailed to Info.sufc@gmail.com

Important Reminders for Players & Families

Please help keep training running smoothly by:

  • Arriving on time and ready to train.
  • Staying within your team’s allocated field space.
  • Moving off the field promptly at the end of training.
  • Keeping off closed or restricted fields.
  • Checking Facebook and team communication channels during wet weather.
  • Respecting coaches, managers, volunteers and other teams using the fields.
