Springfield United Football Club is excited to announce the appointment of Dane Dawson as FQPL 3 Men’s Head Coach for the 2027 season.

The appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for the club’s senior Men’s program, with preparations already well underway for the season ahead.

An A Licensed Coach, Dane brings a high level of football knowledge, a strong attention to detail and a determination to achieve success. He joins the role after spending the 2026 season coaching within an NPL U23s environment, gaining valuable experience working with players in a high-performance setting.

Dane is also no stranger to Springfield United, having previously spent time at the club as a player several years ago. His return to The Summit sees him take on a new challenge, this time leading the club’s First Team.

The club has been particularly impressed by Dane’s approach, his football knowledge and his vision for the program. His focus on standards, preparation and player development aligns strongly with the direction Springfield United wants to take its senior football program.

With planning for 2027 already underway, Dane will now turn his attention towards assembling the playing group and establishing the environment he wants to take into the new season.

The club is excited about what lies ahead and believes Dane’s appointment represents an important step forward as Springfield United continues to strengthen its senior Men’s program.

Springfield United Football Club is pleased to confirm that Chris Withers has re-signed as Head Coach of our FQPL 3 Women’s First Team for the 2027 season.

The re-signing is another important step for the club, with preparations already well underway for what we hope will be a successful 2027 campaign.

As Springfield United continues to build and enhance its female football program, having a strong and successful FQPL Women’s team is an important part of the club’s long-term direction.

We are beginning to see more of our own young players develop through the FQA pathway, with the goal of providing genuine opportunities for them to progress into senior football and ultimately represent Springfield United at FQPL level.

Chris has played an important role in developing the senior women’s environment and raising the standards within the playing group. His re-signing provides valuable continuity as the club looks to strengthen the squad and continue building a team capable of competing successfully in 2027.

Planning and recruitment for next season are already well underway, with plenty of work happening behind the scenes as we continue to strengthen women’s football at Springfield United.

We’re delighted to have Chris continuing at The Summit and look forward to another exciting season in 2027.

Springfield United FC Earns Football Australia 2 Star Club Changer Status

Springfield United Football Club has been recognised for its ongoing commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and club development after officially achieving 2 Star Club Changer Status through Football Australia's national Club Development Program.

The achievement places Springfield United among a growing network of clubs across the country committed to creating safer, stronger and more sustainable football environments for players, coaches, volunteers, officials and families.

Football Australia's Club Changer Program is designed to support clubs in building welcoming and inclusive cultures, strengthening governance practices and enhancing the overall participation experience for everyone involved in the game. The program also assists clubs in planning for long-term success by promoting best practice across key operational and safeguarding areas.

Achieving 2 Star status unlocks access to Football Australia's Club Development Network, a national collective of clubs focused on continuous improvement and organisational excellence.

Through the network, Springfield United will gain access to exclusive development opportunities, including expert-led national webinars, educational forums and seminars, networking opportunities, bespoke club resources and ongoing support from Football Australia's Club Changer team. The club will also be eligible for a range of media, matchday and recognition opportunities through both state and national awards programs.

For Springfield United, the accreditation is a significant endorsement of the work being undertaken behind the scenes to ensure every member enjoys a positive, safe and welcoming football experience.

A special acknowledgement must be given to Natalie Matthews, whose dedication and leadership were instrumental in guiding the club through the accreditation process. Her commitment to safeguarding, governance and continuous improvement has played a vital role in helping Springfield United achieve this important milestone.

While the accreditation reflects the efforts of many volunteers, coaches, committee members and staff across the club, Natalie's work has been central to driving the initiative and ensuring the club met the high standards required to achieve recognition.

The achievement further reinforces Springfield United's position as one of Queensland's leading community football clubs and highlights the club's commitment to providing an environment where players can develop, families can connect and volunteers can thrive.

With its 2 Star Club Changer Status now secured through to 4 June 2027, Springfield United will continue to build on this success as it pursues further opportunities to strengthen the club and enhance the experience of its more than 1,500 players and members.

This recognition is more than an accreditation. It is a reflection of the culture, values and community spirit that continue to drive Springfield United Football Club forward.
