Springfield United’s Junior Football program provides playing opportunities for players from Under 13 to Under 18, with teams available across different levels of ability, experience and commitment.
Junior football is an important stage in a player’s development. It is where players build on the skills they developed in MiniRoos and begin to experience a more structured version of the game, including larger fields, competitive fixtures, tactical understanding, positional development and greater responsibility within a team environment.
Whether your child is aiming to challenge themselves in a higher-level football environment or simply wants to continue playing with friends and enjoying the game, Springfield United aims to provide a positive and supportive team environment.
Springfield United offers a clear pathway for players as they move from MiniRoos into junior and senior football.
Our Junior program provides:
Our aim is to support players to continue improving, stay connected to football and enjoy being part of a team.
In 2026, Springfield United is fielding Junior teams across Under 13 to Under 18, including FQ Academy, Development, divisional and community football teams.
Our 2026 Junior program includes:
Our highest-level Junior teams in 2026 operate as Development teams connected to the FQ Academy program. These teams provide a more competitive environment for players who are ready to challenge themselves and continue developing towards higher-level junior or senior football opportunities.
For players who simply want to continue playing, enjoy football with friends and be part of a team, Springfield United also offers less-competitive teams from U13 to U18 where possible.
For players seeking a more advanced football environment, Springfield United offers FQ Academy teams from Under 13 to Under 18.
The FQ Academy provides a structured development environment for players who are ready to train and compete at a higher level. It is part of the recognised Football Queensland pathway, but selection in an Academy team does not guarantee selection into representative, state or national programs.
For more information, please visit our FQ Academy page.
Springfield United is committed to supporting the continued growth of female football.
Where player numbers allow, the club aims to provide girls Junior teams across relevant age groups. Girls teams give players the opportunity to develop in a positive team environment while continuing their football journey through the teenage years.
Female players may also have opportunities through community teams or FQ Academy teams depending on age group, ability, availability and competition structure.
Junior football is suitable for players who want to continue playing football beyond MiniRoos and be part of a team environment.
It may be right for your child if they:

Springfield United may run trials for our higher-level Junior teams where required.

Where additional squad positions become available, or where teams still require players, further trials or player assessments may also be held as needed.

Team placement depends on player numbers, coach availability, field space, competition availability and squad balance. Players who are not selected for higher-level teams may be placed into another suitable Junior team where positions are available.
