QPL Women
Springfield United’s senior women’s program represents the highest level of female football at the club and an important part of our growing female pathway.
Following another strong year of development, Springfield United is preparing for the 2027 season with an increased focus on creating opportunities for emerging female players to progress from junior and FQ Academy football into the senior game.
From 2027, Football Queensland’s former Football Queensland Premier League (FQPL) competitions will operate under the new Queensland Premier League (QPL) name.
Springfield United’s QPL Women program will include opportunities across our First Team and U23 Women, strengthening the connection between our youth and senior female pathways and providing aspiring players with another important step towards senior football.

Building a Strong Female Football Pathway
Springfield United continues to invest in female football, providing opportunities from MiniRoos and junior girls football through to FQ Academy, senior community football and Queensland Premier League football.
The introduction of an U23 Women’s squad provides an important bridge between youth and First Team football.
It creates an environment where emerging players can continue their development, experience senior football and work towards opportunities within Springfield United’s First Team.
Our female pathway includes:
MiniRoos Girls → Junior Girls / FQ Academy Girls → U23 Women → QPL Women First Team
Players may progress through different parts of the pathway depending on their age, ability, development and individual football goals.
Head Coach — Chris Withers
Springfield United is pleased to have Chris Withers returning as Women’s First Team Head Coach for the 2027 season.
Chris has played an important role in strengthening Springfield United’s senior women’s environment and creating opportunities for young players to progress into senior football.
As the program continues to grow, the focus will remain on developing a competitive First Team while creating a clear pathway for Springfield United’s emerging female players through the U23 and senior women’s environment.
Expressions of Interest — 2027 QPL Women
Expressions of Interest are now open for Springfield United’s 2027 QPL Women program.
We are seeking committed and ambitious players interested in opportunities across both our:
- QPL Women First Team
- U23 Women
Whether you are an experienced senior player, an emerging player progressing from youth or Academy football, or looking for a new challenge in 2027, we would love to hear from you.
Players should be prepared to commit to a competitive training and match environment and contribute positively to the standards and culture of Springfield United.
