Registration FAQs

As a large club, we receive a significant number of enquiries, especially during the registration period. To help with this, we have attempted to collate the common ones below and provide answers.

The club is run by an entirely volunteer Committee with full time jobs and other commitments and responding to these queries can become time consuming. As a result, if you email us, the auto reply will provide information about links to common questions. If those links answer your question, we may not reply, or may prioritise other queries over yours, which may delay us providing you with a response.

What is your contact number so I can call you?

We do not have a manned office or general contact number. As a club run by volunteers, we also do not make our personal numbers available. If you have a query that is not answered below, or on our FAQs page, please email us at info.sufc@gmail.com.

What ages/teams can I register for?

When can I register?

Registrations for the following season will usually open late November. Current members will be emailed when they open. Please watch our socials for updates.


How do I register?

The 2024 registration process will be advised once information is received from Football Queensland on Squadi.


Who has to register?

You have to be 18 years old to complete a registration. If a player is not yet 18 years old, their parent or guardian will need to register them.  


How much are the fees?

Our fees can be found on our Fee Info page.


For 2023, our strict 'no pay, no play' policy will continue. Players must have either paid in full, or paid a minimum deposit and created a Payment Plan for the balance before the dates advised by SUFC. This is normally by the end of January for Senior and U13-U20 teams, and the end of February for MiniRoos teams. Regular updates will be issued for outstanding fees.


Do I need to pay a deposit?

A minimum deposit of $100 is required to secure registrations, which can be paid using the features of the online system. Full fee payment (or a payment plan being entered into) are due by the end of January for Divisional players and end of February for MiniRoos (i.e. prior to commencement of training). Senior fees are payable prior to participation in a competitive fixture following successful trials.


Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, after you have paid the minimum deposit, you can To create a Payment Plan when you register. If done later, follow the steps in our SUFC Majestri Users Guide.


What teams and competitions are available?

Please refer to our junior and senior teams information pages for information on our teams.


Are there trials?

We will run trials for the highest level teams in U13 to U18, and U9 to U12 (Kangaroos). U13 to U18 trials are typically October/November, while Kangaroos trials are normally February. Watch our socials for updates.


If you are not looking for a spot in our highest level team, register when registrations open and you will be placed into a team early 2024.


We do not hold trials or 'come and try' sessions for teams unless advertised.


What age group do I register for/Can my child play in a different age group?

You register in the age group equivalent to the age you will turn in that year. For example, if you were registering for the 2024 season and you were born in 2010, you will register for U14. 


Players who register outside of their playing group may require SUFC to obtain dispensation from Football Queensland. If registering outside your normal age group, YOU MUST ADVISE WHY in the Team Preferences section of your registration. 


The playing (age) group says 'FULL'?

Only a certain number of positions are made available in each playing group. When that is reached, no further registration can be taken for that playing group.

When I register, can I provide preferences such as what team my child plays in or training nights?

You can enter any preferences in the Team Preferences field when registering. We will take these into consideration, but we cannot guarantee we will be able to meet your preferences.


Can I Coach or Manager my child's team?

We are a community club, which is reflected in our fees. To keep our fees as low as possible, we rely on parents to step forward to be the Coach or Manager of our teams. We do not provide Coaches and Managers for our teams. 


Coaches and Managers will be supported throughout the season, including discounted fees, access to free community coaching courses and club coach support officers.

Can I nominate to volunteer next season?

When you register, you can nominate for various categories of volunteers. As a community club, we rely heavily on volunteers to support the unpaid Executive and Board to run the club. This includes Coaches and Managers for most teams.


How do I know if my registration was successful?

You will receive a confirmation email/invoice (Tax Invoice: SUFC 202x Season Registration) if you registration is successful. Please check your Spam if you did not get an email. If you do not believe you have received an email, please email us at info.sufc@gmail.com.


What happens next/What is the registration process/Why hasn't someone contacted me about my registration?

You will receive further advice closer to when you either trial or start training. Please refer to the Teams and Training pages for specific details for each group. Please also ensure you check your Spam mail in case any notifications have gone there.


Can I view or change my registration?

Yes you can. Follow the steps in our SUFC Majestri Users Guide to login an and view or change your registration. Once the player is allocated to a team, you will also be able to see the team's details.
