Senior Women

Springfield United Football Club has been a strong supported and enabler of growing female participation in the game we all love.

Since 2018 when we started our first female-only team, we have grown our female participation by 120% with 212 players in 2023 across 13 female teams, ranging from U8 to FQPL Women and Women's Legends.

Instrumental in building our female involvement is our successful Springfield Girls United program, which we have run since 2022 and has provided the opportunity for girls who have not experienced football before to come and try.

We have also launched our Female Pathway, to provide the opportunities for females to have a lifetime of football, and can choose from the fitness and friendship of Community football, or the development and excitement of advanced league football.

FQPL Women

Springfield United are pleased to announce that our FQPL Women has achieved promotion into FQPL2 for 2024.

Under the coaching team of Lucas Torrisi and Matt Maitland, and backed by a strong Metro Women's Division 2 team, we are looking to a challenging and successful year in FQPL2 in 2024.

As our peak female teams, our Female Pathway has been implemented to enable young and inspiring female players to develop through SUFC to one day be a member of our FQPL Women's teams.

Watch our socials for details on trails for the 2024 squad.

Metro Women

After a successful year in Metro 4 where our team missed finals by 1 point, we are looking to field the following Metro Women's teams in 2024:

  • a competitive Division 2 team (nominations pending), led by a well qualified and experience coach, and

  • a Division 4/5 team (nominations pending), for those who just want to keep fit, have some fun or are new to football.

The Division 2 team will train twice weekly with our FQPL2 Women's squad, with potential opportunities to play up into the FQPL teams.

The Division 4/5 team will expected to only train once per weekly on Monday, with our Women's Legends team.

Womens Legends

On the back of our successful first year in Women's Legends in 2023, with the team winning the Grand Final, we will be fielding a Women's Legend team in 2024.

Women's Legends play in the Master competition (run by Lions FC), along side the Over 35 and Over 45 Men.

The Women Legends train Monday, and play games on Wednesday night (based on 2023 games).
