Apply for a Blue Card

The QLD Government have a strict "NO CARD, NO START" policy meaning coaches, volunteers, club referees over the age of 18 and paid employees must have a valid blue card before engaging in activities with children.

Football Queensland also mandates that any of the following, who are over the age of 18 and are volunteers, including coaches, managers, sports trainers and any other volunteer directly associated with a team, must hold a valid blue card. This includes a parent coaching their own child's team.

If you have an exemption, you will need to apply for an exemption card.

Proof of blue cards and exemption cards need to be emailed to bluecard.sufc@gmail.com

How to apply for a Blue Card

All applications can now be done online, via the following steps:

  1. Have a customer reference number (CRN) from the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR)

  2. Register for an account online. You will need a form of identification (i.e. Driver's Licence) in order to complete registration.

  3. Apply for your blue or exemption card using the online applicant portal

  4. Once registered, you will receive an email with an account number. Please provide this account number, your DOB and advise as to the purpose you are needing a blue card (e.g. to become a coach) to our Blue Card Admin Team, who will link your account to the Club. If your account is not linked to the club, you will not be able to apply for the free Blue Card for volunteers and may end up paying a fee.
