Trials & Grading
FQPL Senior Men and Women;, FQPL Metro League and Div 1 Junior Divisionals will trial during January 2021. For all other teams, grading will be performed during the first few weeks of training and sign on will be capped at the expected team number. We will also use the start of training to identify the level of ability in MiniRoos U9-U11 and assess the number of Komodo teams we wish to field before grading players into these.
Refer to the Teams pages for details of the trials.
Training/Season start
Outside of the trailing teams, all other senior teams (Metro Men and Women, Legends Women and Masters Men) will commence pre-season sessions from Wednesday 12th Jan, ahead of participating in the SUFC Cup in Jan/Feb. Players will be graded into the various levels of teams prior to the commencement of the season.
All other Divisional (U13-U18) and U12 sides that are not trialling in January will commence training the week commencing 31st January. Players will be graded into the available teams at each age group through the first couple of weeks and then will split to train in these individual teams for the remainder of the season.
Please note, training days for the season may differ from the days of trials/training during January and from the initial Divisional grading weeks (though we will try to avoid a day change for non-trialling divisional teams once graded where possible).
Training for Mini-Roos (U6-U11) will start week commencing 28th Feb (extended to 14 March due to weather impacting the grounds) for those who have nominated for a Komodo trial and the following week (week commencing 7th March - also extended to 14 March due to weather impacting the grounds) for all other Mini-Roos sides. Komodo trials will run across the first couple of weeks of training. Unsuccessful trialists will be placed into another side at the end of their trial.
Training and team details will not be communicated during sign on period as some of this information is dependent on sign on numbers and mix. Once the sign on period progresses, additional training information will be emailed to registered players ahead of the commencement of training (this is expected to occur towards the end of January 2022).
Information
