Divisionals (U13-U18)

Our History and Future Direction

Our Junior Divisional program continues to strengthen year on year as we work towards entry into the Advanced Pyramid structure for our U13 to U18 boys* teams, and U13 to U17 girls teams.

For 2023 we fielded 12 junior divisional teams, including U13 and U16 boys* Metro Junior League (MJL) teams, and U14 and U15 Division 1 boys* teams.

For 2024, we are finalising our coach and player development programs, including qualifications for our top team coaches to seek entry into the Advanced Pyramid for 2025 for U10 to U18 boys* and U13 to U17 girls teams. To support this, we intend to field the following divisional teams in 2024:

  • U13 Boys* MJL or Division 1.
  • U13 Girls Division 1 or 2.
  • U14 Boys* MJL or Division 1.
  • U15 Boys* MJL or Division 1.
  • U15 Girls Division 1 or 2.
  • U16 Boys* MJL or Division 1.
  • U17 Girls Division 1 or 2.
  • U18 Boys* MJL or Division 1.

Trials for these teams will occur in November 2023.

What is the process for Junior Divisional Teams

The process for establishing junior divisional teams is as follows:

  1. Trials will commence for our top U13 to U18 boys* and girls teams prior to registrations opening. Players participating in these trials should await the completion of the trials to be provided instructions for registering.

  2. Register the player/s with SUFC for the season for the following year through our Registration page - note this is usually a separate and subsequent registration to the trials registrationYou will get a confirmation email/invoice if the registration is completed correctly. Please ensure you select the correct age group, and provide any Player Preferences if there are any. If wishing to play in a higher or lower age group than the players age (in that year), please include why in the Player Preferences - SUFC may be required to seek permission from Football Queensland to play outside of the normal age group.

  3. Players outside our top teams (see 1) will commence training when advised by SUFC, including training day and time, with training usually starting mid to late January

  4. Through training, players will be placed in teams based on skill level and/or preferences. Once allocated to a team, players and parents will be advised.

  5. Once advised by SUFC, attend a kit collection days to collect your training kit (Socks, shorts, training short and polo).
